Newcastle manager Eddie Howe sends warning to Manchester United ahead of Premier League fixture

Eddie Howe has insisted Newcastle will play with no fear against Manchester United at Old Trafford this weekend.

Newcastle have significantly improved with Howe in charge at St. James' Park and the North East club currently find themselves sixth in the Premier League table on 14 points after nine games, just one point behind United.

After the controversial Saudi-backed takeover last year, Howe has spent over £200million in 2022 and the mood in his squad is positive following two dominant wins against Fulham and Bournemouth, in which Newcastle scored a combined nine goals.

Howe was asked about Sunday's clash at Old Trafford in his pre-match press conference this week and the 44-year-old insisted that Newcastle would approach the game with a positive mindset, despite Alexander Isak still being unavailable.

"Alexander Isak is making progress but he's not available for this game," Howe said. "We've not picked up any new injuries. He’s [Isak] running on grass, he’s increasing his speed so he’s in a good place but the medical team is just holding him back slightly.

"So hopefully he won’t be too long. We're going to try and attack it and get a positive result. Manchester United have outstanding individuals and a great manager. They're developing their style of play and philosophy.

"We have to go in with no fear and believe we can win. The performance levels have been very high. If you can go into these games with confidence and a good feeling, it gives you the best chance of a positive result.

"The next group of games are tough but we're going to try and attack them, rise to the occasion and give our all to get a positive result. I've watched a lot of
