New sentencing date set for man from Tameside who killed his teenage sister at a north Wales caravan park

A man from Tameside who killed his teenage sister at a caravan park in North Wales is now to be sentenced in September. Amanda Selby, 15, died at the Ty Mawr holiday park in Towyn, near Rhyl in July last year.

Her 19-year-old brother Matthew Selby, from Ashton-Under Lyme, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility in February this year. Prosecutors accepted the plea meaning a planned murder trial was abandoned.

Selby was originally due to be brought back to court for sentencing on March 18, but no hearing took place. Attempts were also made in April and June to proceed to sentence but both resulted in a postponement.

Amanda's family described her in a tribute issued through North Wales Police as a "loving daughter and granddaughter". It
