New records: F1's altered history books as Verstappen, Red Bull make history in Italy

The 2023 Italian Grand Prix was impressive and also the one race in which Max Verstappen had to work for his tenth and record-breaking win of the Formula 1 season.

The Red Bull driver bided his time for 15 laps before passing Ferrari's Carlos Sainz into Turn 4, opening his gap and ultimately winning by more than seven seconds over teammate Sergio Perez.

"Ten wins in a row is a record I am very happy about. It is something you don't even think about trying to achieve because it is very unlikely that those kinds of things happen," Verstappen said after the race.

"I am very proud it has happened and proud of what the team has done again - the whole year has been pretty incredible so far. And, of course, a one-two here in Monza is special for us all."

Verstappen now sits on 364 points in the 2023 campaign, almost seven wins clear of Perez with 219 points. Red Bull also leads the Constructors' race with 583 points, a long way clear of Mercedes' 273 points.

We look into some of the F1 stats and facts coming out of Monza.
