New Netflix series with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score hailed as the ‘best show’ in years

A new Netflix series has received a perfect 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and has been hailed as the streaming giant’s “best original show” in years. Released on the platform on Thursday (April 6), BEEF follows the aftermath of a road rage incident between two strangers.

Described by Netflix as “darkly comedic and deeply moving,” it stars The Walking Dead actor Steven Yeun alongside Always Be My Maybe actress and comedian Ali Wong. In it, Danny Cho (Yeun), a failing contractor with a chip on his shoulder, goes head-to-head with Amy Lau (Wong), a self-made entrepreneur with a picturesque life, as the increasing stakes of their feud unravel their lives and relationships.

The 10-part series comes from the mind of South Korean writer Lee Sung Jin, who was recently tapped to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe by penning the script for upcoming antihero blockbuster Thunderbolts. It is produced by independent studio A24, the company behind a host of acclaimed films including Lady Bird, Uncut Gems, The Lighthouse, The Whale and Everything Everywhere All at Once.

It also produced hit teen drama Euphoria. BEEF has been met with rave reviews from critics, currently boasting a perfect 100 percent Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
