New Man United boss Ruben Amorim has already made stance on Mikel Arteta and Arsenal clear
Newly appointed Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is an admirer of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
The 39-year-old was officially unveiled as Erik ten Hag's replacement, becoming the latest young manager to take the reins of a global football powerhouse. Amorim and Arteta are part of a new wave of young coaches seeking to make their mark on European football.
They have previously met in the Europa League Round of 16, which ended with Amorim's Sporting Lisbon knocking the Gunners out in 2023. Before he sent the North Londoners packing out of Europe, Amorim admitted he looked up to the Spaniard.

Before his former side's clash against Arsenal, Amorim said: "In our first season we won the league, then were runners-up and we qualified for the Champions League last 16.
"This year we are struggling, but Arteta is an example because he was able to withstand the pressure, which is unbearable for a team in the Premier League. Now he is bearing the fruits.
"It is important for fans to understand that to pick up the fruits from your work, you have to wait."

Arteta's position was under threat in the early weeks of his third season in charge, following two consecutive eighth-place finishes. He was on thin ice when his third campaign began with three consecutive defeats, no goals scored, and nine conceded.
