New Liverpool manager Arne Slot has already made Erik ten Hag feelings clear
Liverpool have confirmed Arne Slot will take over as manager, setting the Dutchman on a collision course with Erik ten Hag should his compatriot stay at Manchester United.
Ten Hag is under pressure after leading United to their worst-ever Premier League finish but if the 54-year-old Ten Hag manages to weather the storm, he will lock horns with a familiar rival. Slot and Ten Hag first battled during the 2019/20 Dutch Eredivisie season when the former took up his first managerial role at AZ Alkmaar.
The title race between Ajax and AZ was thrilling until it was halted and eventually cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both teams were neck and neck on 56 points with identical records, only goal difference separated them.

Ten Hag went on to secure his second and third Eredivisie titles in 2021 and 2022 before being appointed by United. Slot moved on from AZ to Feyenoord and, in Ten Hag's absence, has restored the club's position at the top of Dutch football, reports the Express.
In 2022, he led Feyenoord to the Europa Conference League final and last season, they clinched their first Eredivisie title since 2017. Slot lifted the KNVB Cup this term as Feyenoord finished second in the league behind PSV.
He will now step into the Anfield dugout and attempt to fill the significant gap left by Jurgen Klopp, whose his nine-year tenure has come to an end. Ten Hag's future beyond the summer remains uncertain following a disappointing season where United missed out on Champions League qualification.
