New Hythe Town manager Andy Crush targets fourth league title with third different club after taking the reins at Reachfields

New Hythe Town manager Andy Crush is targeting immediate success at Reachfields.

Crush has joined the Cannons after leading Hawkinge to the Kent County League Premier Division title.

That was his third championship in four seasons, having previously landed back-to-back Division 2 Central and Division 1 Central & East crowns with Deal Town Reserves.

He has a record of success and brings a much-needed winning mentality to Hythe as they look to regroup following successive relegations.

There’s a big job ahead as Crush bids to revive their fortunes in Southern Counties East Division 1 - Step 6 of the non-league pyramid.

And the new boss is up for the challenge.

“I don’t go into anything saying I’m not looking to win it,” said Crush, 31.

“We’ll have a good summer, we’ll work hard in pre-season and, realistically, that would be my ambition, to get back up at the first attempt.

“Andy (Nanda, chairman) has been quite clear, he wants to see the right processes and he wants to see the club going in the right direction.

“Maybe promotion isn’t the be-all and end-all but, for me, that’s where you’ve got to aim because if you’re not aiming to win every week, what’s the point in being there?”

Crush’s CV, admittedly at lower levels, suggests he has something about him and if he can bring that to Hythe, the Cannons will be able to put a difficult few years behind them.

That’s the plan and Crush will be working tirelessly to make it happen and shed the club of their losing habit.

“I’ve been successful in almost every season I’ve had as a manager,” said Crush.

“I started off at Deal Reserves, I was around when Deal won the SCEFL Prem, and then I won Kent County Div 2, Kent County Div 1 and then this year the Kent County Prem.
