As far as teammates go, new Glentoran arrival Dillon Powers has shared the pitch with some world superstars.

The Glens announced the signing of US-born midfielder Powers on Thursday.

The 31-year-old has predominantly played his football in the MLS including spells with Colorado Rapids and Orlando City.

Powers was once in the same squad as Brazilian World Cup winner Kaka, who played for Orlando between 2014-17.

Kaka also had two spells with AC Milan and played for Real Madrid, winning league titles in Italy and Spain, as well as the Champions League.

Powers also featured in the same Orlando side as former Manchester United and Portugal winger Nani, who was with the Florida franchise for two years between 2019-21.

He can also count ex-Manchester United and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard as a former teammate - the pair played together at Colorado Rapids - while he has previously played against Wayne Rooney during the Derby County manager's time at DC United.

Powers - who was named MLS Rookie of the Year in 2013 - was most recently with USL Championship outfit Orange County SC in California.
