New footage shows Anthony Joshua raging at members of Oleksandr Usyk’s team in moments before passionate speech

Anthony Joshua argued with members of Oleksandr Usyk’s team in the moments that appeared to spark his post-fight meltdown in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua graciously applauded as Usyk’s name was called out as the winner following the Ukrainian’s split decision win in their IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight title rematch on Saturday.

But the mood took a turn shortly after as the Briton took two of Usyk’s world titles and threw them out of the ring before addressing the crowd with a passionate yet confusing speech.

New footage released by Sky Sports shows the moments that led to the chaos. After initially applauding his opponent, Joshua is seen calmly talking to Usyk’s manager Egis Klimas and cutman Russ Anber in what appears to be an amicable exchange.

He then moves on to speak to Usyk’s close friend and three-weight world champion Vasiliy Lomachenko before aggressively fist-bumping other members of the champion’s team. Joshua then brushes away an unidentified man dressed in a black t-shirt who appeared to be trying to usher him away from team Usyk.

Joshua then marches across the ring, taking the WBA and Ring Magazine belts from Yurii Ivanovich Tkachenko, Usyk’s head trainer, who had brought them over to his fighter.

Walking away with the belts, Joshua is seen muttering something not picked up by the cameras or microphones before unceremoniously dumping them out of the ring. 

Walking back towards a very bemused-looking Usyk, Joshua brushes past Tkachenko, who appears to say something which provokes an angry reaction from the Briton.

At this point, members of Joshua’s team are forced to restrain him as he tries to confront someone in the ring.
