New contract for James Lowe at Leinster

James Lowe is the the latest Ireland international to agree a new contract at Leinster this week, with the wing committing his future to the province.

The 30-year-old follows James Ryan and Josh van der Flier in signing new contracts to stay at Leinster, although Lowe's latest deal is funded by Leinster rather than a central contract with the IRFU.

Lowe's been an instrumental player for the province since joining from his native New Zealand in late 2017, scoring a prolific 50 tries in 71 games in blue.

The left wing has also crossed the line nine times for Ireland in his 20 caps, since qualifying under residency rules in 2020, with three of those tries coming in the recent Six Nations Grand Slam campaign.

Meanwhile, Leo Cullen's side have also announced that centre Liam Turner has signed a new deal.

The 23-year-old is enjoying a breakthrough year, scoring two tries in 11 games, while also making his Champions Cup debut in the pool win away to Gloucester.

The former Ireland U20 captain is part of a youthful Leinster squad in South Africa this week, preparing for the first of their tour matches against the Emirates Lions on Saturday (live on RTÉ2 and RTE Player).
