'Never-say-die attitude' the key - Armagh's Rory Grugan

Armagh veteran Rory Grugan hailed his team's "never say die attitude" after the Orchard County overcame Galway 1-11 to 0-13 to claim their second All-Ireland title.

The sides were level at the break but Armagh got the upper hand after Aaron McKay scored the only goal of the game in the 47th minute.

The Tribesmen got to within a point but couldn't level the game after six minutes of added time.

"It's amazing, it's 10 years of work for so many people," forward Grugan told RTÉ Sport after the match.

"Just to see everyone here and the elation at the end. Boys coming off the bench again to win it for us. I can't put it into words."

Rank outsiders at the start of the season, Kieran McGeeney's side came up trumps in a tight contest after many heartbreaking defeats over the last four years.

Drama right until the end of the 2024 All-Ireland football final.

Scenes of joy as Armagh are crowned champions for just the second time.
