Netherlands to host 2026 Solheim Cup

The 2026 Solheim Cup will take place at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands, tournament organisers have announced. Bernardus only opened in 2018 but has already hosted the Dutch Open on the DP World Tour in 2021 and 2022 and will do so again next year.

Catriona Matthew, who captained Europe to victory in 2019 and 2021, said: "I played in my first Solheim Cup in 1998 and I've seen the event just grow and grow. "I've been fortunate enough to play here at Bernardus, it was just before they were hosting the Dutch Open, and it's an amazing venue.

"It kind of reminded me a little bit of a links course; there's going to be a lot of risk-reward on the last few holes so it's going to be exciting and that's what the fans want to come and see." Ladies European Tour chief executive Alexandra Armas added: "Working with IMG, we believe that in Bernardus and the NGF (Royal Dutch Golf Federation) we have identified the ideal partner for the 2026 Solheim Cup in what will be the 20th edition of the match. "Their vision and commitment align perfectly with ours and the course and facilities, as well as the NGF's inclusive ambitions for the nation, will deliver a fantastic experience for players, community and fans alike." Europe have won the last two Solheim Cup matches against the United States and will defend the trophy at Finca Cortesin in Spain next September.
