Netflix fans say new post-apocalyptic drama series is a ‘must watch’

Netflix is gearing up to drop a brand-new series that fans say will be a “must watch.” The streaming giant has unveiled the first main trailer for Korean sci-fi drama Black Knight ahead of its release later this Spring.

The series is based on the popular webtoon Delivery Knight and depicts a dystopian future where 99 percent of humanity has been wiped out by extreme air pollution. Netflix has billed the K-dramas as “an action-packed, adrenaline-fueled adventure that will leave you breathless.”

The first-look trailer offers a tantalising glimpse into a post-apocalyptic world where the Korean peninsula has become a desert wasteland. In the series, the legendary courier 5-8 (Kim Woo-bin) works as a lifeline to mankind, delivering oxygen and other necessities during the day.

But at night, he transforms into a Black Knight with a plot to upend the order created by Cheonmyeong Group, the de facto ruler of the devastated world. Ryu Seok (Song Seung-heon), the ruthless heir to Cheonmyeong Group, clashes with 5-8 as he defends his vision of a world with no place for the refugees.

Seol-ah (Esom), a major at the Defense Intelligence Command, warns 5-8 that chaos may spiral out of hand, while Sa-wol, a refugee who aspires of becoming a Black Knight, boldly climbs onto 5-8’s truck, eager to join the fight.

The newly released clip teases Black Knight’s exhilarating action sequences on top of its tense drama, including nail-biting car chases, intense firefights, and expertly choreographed combat. It also gives viewers a glimpse of the desolate wasteland and a disparate society of those that were forced to live underground.
