Netflix drops trailer for Season 2 of 'most-watched show of all time' as fans get 'goosebumps'
Netflix's hit series Squid Game first appeared on the streaming platform in 2021 and quickly became a global sensation.
The South Korean series introduced audiences to Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), a struggling father who found himself embroiled in a lethal contest with 455 other competitors, all battling for a cash prize of 45.6 billion won.
After a three-year wait, fans will finally see Season 2 released on the streaming service on December 26. The third and final season of Squid Game is set to premiere in 2025.
This evening (October 31), Netflix unveiled its eagerly awaited trailer for Season 2, showcasing Seong's attempts to alter the game from within. In the clip, the character is seen re-joining the game and trying to instigate a revolt against its shadowy creators, reports the Mirror.
According to the synopsis for Season 2: "Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won."
Fans have been quick to share their thoughts on the forthcoming series after viewing the teaser trailer.
