Neraysho Kasanwirjo 'on his way' to seal Rangers transfer as Clement and Koppen kickstart thrilling transfer finale

Busy Rangers have kickstarted a manic finish on deadline day as they reportedly close in on the signing of Feyenoord defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo on a season-long loan.

The versatile 22-year-old – who can play both in central defence and at right-back – is primed to leave Rotterdam and head to Ibrox in a deal which will include an option to buy. He spent last season on loan at Rapid Vienna after joining Arne Slot's side following an impressive period with Groningen after he left Ajax.

Now 1908.nl insists a deal between Rangers and Feyenoord has been agreed for a player who has received minutes at the start of the Eredivisie season. Kasanwirjo has operated primarily as a full-back but also has experience of playing in a back three. Dujon Sterling is regarded as skipper James Tavernier's back-up, however, a move for the Netherlands U21 international would allow Sterling to be deployed in midfield.

Philippe Clement has been seeking additions and Kasanwirjo is set to be the first domino to fall with the Belgian and his sporting director Nils Koppen also working on a deal to secure Nemid Bajrami on a season-long loan from Sassuolo.

Scott Wright will join Birmingham City with Todd Cantwell set for Blackburn but bids for Rabbi Matondo have been turfed out up until this point.
