Neil McCann sees a route for Rangers to rock Celtic's world but he can't deny one thing about the champs

Excited Neil McCann reckons a fast Ibrox start is imperative to denting Celtic in the blockbuster title clash at Ibrox.

The Former Rangers star is expecting a thrilling encounter and believes Rangers can gain control of the title race by come out the traps. McCann has been impressed with Philippe Clement's side who have closed the gap and now have a chance to land a significant blow on the team who have landed 11 of the past 12 titles. But the former Scotland international concedes the champions are coming on strong at the perfect time.

Speaking on Sportscene, McCann said: "I think the selection problems that both managers have could be crucial. The Callum McGregor one, I agree with Faddy [James McFadden] wholeheartedly. I think if he is fit he plays and you are thinking Hatate and O'Riley. Philippe Clement has done really well in moving the squad around and choosing different players.

"I think he has more selection issues whether Silva plays off the left, Wright plays off the right or it is a little bit more robust with Sterling. What I would say is, I don't think Rangers have had a greater opportunity to go and really put a stranglehold in this title race.

"They've made up some ground that nobody believed they could do by Celtic falling way. To balance that out I think Celtic are back. They've got their minds right again and I think they've got a little bit of a mojo again. They know how to win at Ibrox. But I think this opportunity Rangers have is crying out for them to have a fast start. If they win that they've got a game in hand and they are right in the box seat. But it is all to play for."
