Neil Lennon has major Kyogo wish as Celtic hero earns 'favourite player' tag with transfer caveat

Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon has branded Kyogo Furuhashi his "favourite player" - admitting he would like to see the striker try his luck in the Premier League in future.

Despite suffering a disappointment against Rangers on Sunday, overall the Celtic frontman has enjoyed a top campaign netting 30 goals and picking up a PFA Player of the Year nomination while helping the Hoops to the brink of a Treble. The Japan international has already lifted the Viaplay Cup this season and his goals have helped to seal the Scottish Premiership title for Ange Postecoglou's men - with the Scottish Cup Final just around the corner on June 3 against Inverness CT.

And former Celtic Park boss Lennon heaped praised on the in-form striker - admitting he would have loved the 28-year-old to be a part of the squad during his time as Celtic gaffer. And he reckons that he could impress should he make the move to the English Premier League.

Lennon told BoyleSports: "I really like Kyogo Furuhashi and he's one of the players I would have liked to have in my squad when I was there. He's so clinical with all kinds of finishes and has great movement, he's my favourite player at the minute.

"I'm a big fan and he's been a great signing for Ange. He's a player who has genuine top class qualities and he could definitely play in the Premier League - I just hope he doesn't go anytime soon because I'm really enjoying watching him play for Celtic."
