Ncuti Gatwa says part of filming Doctor Who Christmas special was 'like a bucking bronco'
The BBC has revealed some first-look images of the Doctor Who Christmas Special and has interviewed the cast and creators of the show.
Ncuti Gatwa, who plays The Doctor, has revealed that during filming, one part of the set was like being on a bucking bronco.
This year's festive episode, called Doctor Who Christmas Special Joy to the World, will introduce Irish actor Nicola Coughlan as Joy, who checks into a hotel to discover the Doctor and some other unexpected guests.

Gatwa, 32, became the fifteenth doctor during the show's 60th anniversary episode 'The Giggle', when the David Tennant version of the Doctor split himself into two entities.
There were three special episodes to commemorate the show's 60th anniversary in 2023, which saw David Tennant's Doctor return to team up with Donna Noble, played by Katherine Tate.
Ahead of the Christmas special, the BBC has interviewed the cast and creators of the show and released some sneak peak images of the episode.
Gatwa, who rose to fame on Netflix's Sex Education, has revealed what fans can expect from the Christmas special.
He said: "We find the Doctor at the start of this episode alone. He’s lost his companion and he’s on the hunt for some milk! He’s landed in a very exciting hotel, and then the adventure ensues.
"He’s obviously still dealing with losing Ruby, who is back at home with her family, and he’s trying to fill that void with an adventure, and it is a big one!"
Joy, played by Derry Girls' Nicola Coughlan, is a new character. Gatwa has opened up about working with the Irish star.
