NBA Trade Deadline Blog - A possible fit for Dragic

Members of the New York Knicks organization are doing their due dilligence on Toronto Raptors point guard Goran Dragic, according to Ian Begley of SNY.

Begley writes that a deal that had been discussed was a three-team trade involving Nerlens Noel and Talen Horton-Tucker to the Raptors, Cam Reddish and Alec Burks to the Los Angeles Lakers and Dragic along with draft compensation to the Knicks. Begley adds that not much progress has been made toward the deal as of Thursday morning and the situation remains fluid. 

Dragic started the season-opener for the Raptors and went on to play in the first four games but was then benched on Oct. 27 and didn’t appear in a game again until Nov. 13. In late November, Dragic stepped away from the team due to personal reasons and has not played since. He was acquired last summer along with Precious Achiuwa in a sign-and-trade that sent Kyle Lowry to the Miami Heat.

Meanwhile, Reddish was acquired by the Knicks in a deal with the Atlanta Hawks last month in exchange for a first-round pick and forward Kevin Knox but has struggled to find playing time under head coach Tom Thibodeau. The 10th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Reddish is averaging 4.0 points per game in five appearances for the Knicks.

Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley averaged close to 20 points per game through his first two seasons in Minnesota but has seen both his scoring and minutes drop off dramatically. 

Beasley said Wednesday that he would like to remain in the Twin Cities past Thursday's trade deadline but acknowledged that anything is possible.
