NBA's Evan Fournier Fined $25K For Punting Ball Following Miami Heat's Game-Winner

"Can I kick it?" No, you can't.

NBA guard Evan Fournier went full "Ray Guy" when the Detroit Pistons lost to the Miami Heat on a buzzer-beater Sunday afternoon.

Fournier punted the basketball out of frustration following a 104-101 defeat.

Now, Fournier is answering to the league for his ‘misconduct.'

On Monday, Fournier was assigned a $25,000 fine for his kung-fu kick at Little Caesars Arena.

Detroit and the Miami Heat faced off Sunday in a tight contest between the 12-55 Pistons and the reigning Eastern Conference champs.

With one possession left, the Miami Heat cruised down the court and set up Bam Adebayo for a deep 3-point attempt at the buzzer.

Adebayo set his feet, looked at the basket, let it rip and sunk the shot.

Fournier, sick to his stomach, grabbed the ball with no time left and punted it high in the sky.

Detroit nearly had the win, so you can see how Fournier's anger boiled over.

(Did Fournier deserve the fine? Or has the league gone soft-er? Send us your thoughts: alejandro.avila@outkick.com )

Evan Fournier should be accustomed to losing as part of the historically bad Pistons team this season. But to lose on a disappointing final shot attempt made possible by lazy defense surely felt gutting.

Out of the recent spree of ridiculous fines handed by the league, this feels like one of the more justifiable decisions.

NBA exec Joe Dumars, a former Piston, released a statement on Fournier's kick and the $25,000 he'll owe the league.

Sometimes it pays (or saves) to keep your cool.
