Nathaniel Mendez-Laing shares message with Derby County supporters after sealing switch

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has taken to Instagram to share a message with Derby County’s supporters after sealing a move to the League One outfit.

As confirmed by Derby’s official website on Saturday, Mendez-Laing has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal which will keep him at Pride Park until 2024.

The 30-year-old recently opted to turn down a contract offer from Sheffield Wednesday and briefly became a free-agent before moving to the Rams.

Derby were able to finalise this particular move after Clowes Developments Ltd completed their takeover of the club.

Mendez-Laing becomes the third player to join Derby this summer.

Tom Barkhuizen and Joe Wildsmith are also set to represent the Rams next season after joining the club on permanent deals.

Meanwhile, Eiran Cashin and Liam Thompson have both signed new contracts with Derby.

Set to face Oxford United on July 30th, the Rams will be keen to add some more fresh faces to their squad as they aim to achieve a relative amount of success in League One next season.

Reflecting on his switch to Derby on Instagram, Mendez-Laing has thanked the club’s supporters for the messages he has received and has admitted that he can’t wait to get going.

The winger posted: “Let’s get to work!

“@dcfcofficial thank you for the warm welcome messages!

“Can’t wait to get going now.”
