Nathan Patterson receives Match of the Day acclaim as Everton 'diamond' blows Liverpool hero away

In-form Nathan Patterson has been labelled a "diamond" by Liverpool favourite Danny Murphy after his all-action display in the Merseyside Derby draw.

He is only 20, he came in January, physically, he is very, very good. Early in the game he was setting his mark, showing the fans what he is all about. Win your first 50/50. "He's got this desire to get forward and have an impact on the game, which I think is great. His defensive work is good, you can see the strength to keep the ball under pressure. It's only his sixth Premier League appearance but he looked comfortable, he really looked established.
