Nathan Ake admits relief as Man City star ends Tottenham barren spell in FA Cup
Nathan Ake expressed his relief after his Manchester City team finally won at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With the FA Cup tie goalless in the closing minutes, City had remarkably broken the 100-shot barrier without scoring in their matches at Spurs' new ground - until the Dutch defender prodded him the late winner.
Ake said it felt like another night to forget until he struck in the final two minutes of the game. "So happy. It was tough but we played really well over the whole game.
"We just had to score and it didn't happen again for a long time. I was thinking is it going to happen but luckily we got it.

"I think trusting the way we played (was key). We played really well, created numerous chances and just the belief to keep going. Even though we didn't score, just to keep going, keep trying and in the end we got it." He also mentioned how he thought the goal would never come, but they finally did it.
Kevin De Bruyne's introduction was crucial to the game. He had spurned a clear-cut opportunity shortly after his arrival, but redeemed himself with the exceptional set-piece delivery to set up the goal.
City's 1-0 win marked their seventh victory in a row, keeping them in the race for another treble after last season's Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League triumphs. Ake told ITV: "I think it was important to go through, we want to fight for every competition and this was a big step forward."
