Mystery as teen dies from allergic reaction after eating regular kebab order

The death of a popular 16-year-old boy who collapsed after eating a kebab meal from his local takeaway has still not been solved.

Nicholas Kelly, who was known to have a nut allergy, suffered an anaphylactic shock which forced his family to call paramedics to their home. His dad claimed Nick had been given the "wrong sauce" but staff said he received his usual order.

Nick arrived at his Prescot home in a panic, the Liverpool Echo reports. The teenager complained of breathing difficulties and tightness in his chest shortly before collapsing in front of his mum.

He was quickly taken to Whiston hospital where he died four days later on March 11.

The inquest into Nick's death, held at Bootle Town Hall, heard he had been to his local takeaway, Uno Pizzas, shortly before he fell gravely ill. He was said to be a regular customer at the Chapel Street restaurant and would visit up to three times a week.

His usual order consisted of doner meat and mayonnaise - he ate this meal for several years and never suffered any complications from it before. On the night he fell ill, he was chatting with his girlfriend's uncle, staff member Paul Barton.

Mr Barton knocked on the shop window and asked his colleague, Mohammad Afshinzar to sort a meal out for him. He told the inquest: "I asked Mo to do the food. He made the food - the same he always had, mayonnaise and doner meat."

Mr Barton said he was aware of Nick's nut allergy and claimed he noticed nothing unusual
