'My girlfriend makes sandwiches in way that's made me question everything'

If you're in a long-term relationship, there will be things about your partner that irritate you.

Once the honeymoon period has worn off, it's normal for the minor irritations to begin to pile up. This can be as simple as them leaving the toilet seat up or forgetting to take the bin out.

But one bloke's issue is rather different. He was shocked to see how his girlfriend prepares sandwiches – and dramatically joked it's "turned life upside down".

On Reddit's Casual UK forum, he wrote: "I've recently discovered that when my missus makes a sandwich, she only butters one slice of bread. It's made me question if I'm the strange one who butters both slices or if I'm normal and she's the freak.

"I'm also thinking that as I have only just realised after a year, perhaps the second slice just doesn't need butter. My life has been turned upside down by this!"

The man went onto ask what other "weird and wonderful things" other people's partners do, prompting 1,000 of them to reply with their own stories.

One person said: "When having a bag of crisps she'll only eat the big, full crisps, not the smaller bits at the bottom. And that's not just the tiny crumbs, she won't touch anything smaller than about 50p coin size. She used to just then throw that away, but now we team up and I'll finish the job."

Another added: "My other half and her whole family refuse to have more than 1 hot meal a day. Lunch HAS to be a sandwich. If we happen to go out to a pub or restaurant for lunch then it's a sandwich for dinner. Baffles me."

And a third complained: "My partner thinks it's strange that if one of my hands gets wet, I will rub my hands together to wet the other one before I dry them. I guess it is strange, but it feels SO WRONG having one wet
