Mutizwa double in 10 minutes hurt Kaizer Chiefs as Golden Arrows secure vital victory

Relegation-threatened Golden Arrows clawed their from a goal down to claim a famous 3-2 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in a DStv Premiership clash at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

Chiefs took the lead in the ninth minute after Keagan Dolly sent a pinpoint corner towards Sifiso Hlanti, who guided home with his head.

Minutes later, the two switched roles when Dolly chipped the keeper from Hlanti's pass, but unfortunately, the Amakhosi playmaker's effort hit the post.

Arrows equalised on the stroke of half-time when Ntsako Makhubela rifled Knox Mutizwa's delivery into the roof of the net.

Amakhosi restored their lead soon after the break when Mduduzi Shabalala hit the top left corner with his left foot after the ball had fallen to him.

Mutizwa equalised for Abafana Bes'thende in the 69th minute before completing his brace 10 minutes later. The Arrows marksman planted the ball into the top left corner after picking up a stray pass from Chiefs and took the lead, which Arrows would preserve to come away with a crucial three points.

The win moves Arrows further away from the danger zone of relegation up to 10th position after 21 games, while Amakhosi stay put in fifth place as Arthur Zwane's charges now have ten matches in the pocket.

Chiefs will have to get their act together as they next face neighbours and rivals Orlando Pirates in a league Soweto derby on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Arrows' next league match is against SuperSport United on Sunday, 5 March.
