'Muppet' - Simon Jordan and Gabby Agbonlahor in Twitter spat over Leeds United debate

Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has been involved in a social media spat with former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan.

The chairman turned pundit is known for not holding back in his opinions with a debate over the future of Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa, prompting a response from Agbonlahor.

Leeds currently sit in 15th place in the Premier League table, just three points ahead of Burnley in 18th position.

The Whites fell to a 6-0 defeat against title-chasing Liverpool on Wednesday night and have picked up just one point from their last five games.

Villa travel to Elland Road next month, with a debate raging over if Bielsa should be in the dugout for that game.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan outlined how he believes that the manager should be given longer.

“This is the style they play and this is how they play and they’ve had the situation where they have had this depleted squad for the entirety of the season and there is an element of these key components that are out of the side affect the whole axis of how this team plays,” he said.

“It is laughable to suggest that Leeds United need to be replacing him (Bielsa) right now, he is an excellent coach, they are having a difficult time.”

Those comments prompted a reply from Agbonlahor on social media.

“Ur talking nonsense! Of course u change when your leaking goals! Muppet,” he wrote to the pundit, who replied with: “Well I’m sure if they want expert advice, you would be the first person they would turn to.

“That’s assuming, they could wade through the inane drivel, mono syllabic muttering and get to the gold of your huge managerial experience.”
