Mum of man at centre of murder probe says 'my son did not deserve any of this'

The mother of a 42-year-old man who died following an assault in Blackpool last week have paid an emotional tribute to him.

Lancashire Police have launched a murder investigation after receiving reports from Blackpool Victoria Hospital that a man had been assaulted on September 7. Rob Kerr sadly died earlier this week, on Tuesday (September 17), LancsLive reports.

Police believe the 42-year-old was assaulted at his home address on Coronation Street in Blackpool late on Sunday (September 1), or in the early hours of Monday (September 2). A Home Office postmortem examination has been carried out and the death is being treated as a homicide.

If anyone knows anything, could you please come forward and contact the Police. My son did not deserve any of this. We are left heartbroken.”
