Mum of boy, 2, killed in horror incident tells of chilling phone call after she popped out for 20 minutes

A mum has told how she discovered her two year-old son was seriously injured after a tragic accident in a chilling phone call after she'd popped out for 20 minutes. Carter Walsh sadly died after what is believed to have been a fireplace collapse at his home.

Mum Samantha Walsh said she was made aware of the toddler's condition when her niece rang her on Wednesday. The teenager told her sister Carter had 'banged his head', but in fact, a marble fireplace is understood to have collapsed and fallen on him at the family home.

Samantha, 38, feared the worst and rushed back to the property in Worsley Mesnes, Wigan, where paramedics were desperately trying to save little Carter. He later died in hospital.

Natalie's daughter then called Samantha, who began to panic. Samantha said: "She was very calm at first and she just said ‘You
