Mum knifed to death as she pushed baby in pram was 'always smiling' and 'liked to make people laugh', her heartbroken family say

The family of a mum knifed to death as she pushed her baby in a pram have described her as 'always smiling' with a 'great personality'.

Kulsuma Akter, 27, from Oldham was fatally stabbed outside a shop in Bradford on Saturday, with police currently questioning a 25-year-old suspect, thought to be Habibur Masum over the attack.

Masum is understood to have been arrested earlier today (April 9) on suspicion of murder. Kulsuma's baby was unharmed following the attack, West Yorkshire Police confirmed.

A huge manhunt was launched to find her alleged killer before a man, from Oldham, was arrested on suspicion of her murder in the early hours of this morning (April 9). The 25-year-old was arrested in the Aylesbury area.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police are continuing to patrol through Oldham and carry out 'reassurance visits' after the suspect was arrested on Tuesday.

Both Greater Manchester Police and West Yorkshire Police have referred themselves to the Independent Office of Police Conduct due to 'previous contact' with the victim. A 23-year-old man has also been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of assisting an offender.
