MTN8 final tickets vanish in 18 hours: Moses Mabhida's 8th hosting in 11 years promises spectacle

In a stunning display of enthusiasm from South African football fans, tickets for the 2023/24 MTN8 final clash between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns are officially sold out, a mere 18 hours after being released to the public, the Premier Soccer League confirmed on Friday morning.

The ticket frenzy commenced at 15:00 on Thursday and by 09:00 on Friday, the following day, all available tickets had been snapped up, leaving many supporters scrambling to secure their seats.

The MTN8 final is scheduled for Saturday, 7 October (kick-off is at 18:00) at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Durban's renowned stadium will host the domestic cup final for the fourth consecutive year and the eighth time in the past decade.

To ensure a smooth entry into the stadium, gates will open at 14:00 on match day, and fans are encouraged to arrive early.

This spectacle promises a historic showdown between two of South Africa's football giants.

The 2023/24 MTN8 final is set to be an electrifying event, as defending champions Pirates look to retain their crown under Jose Riveiro, while Sundowns will be looking to upset the Buccaneers' evening.

In an effort to prioritise the safety of all attendees, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) is collaborating closely with the South African Police Service and various security partners.

Stringent security measures will be in place, including immediate arrest for illegal activities like ticket scalping.

Importantly, there will be no on-site ticket sales.
