"Movement" likely: NUFC plotting swoop for "dangerous" £30m gem, he's a Fraser upgrade - opinion

An update has emerged regarding Newcastle United‘s pursuit of Jack Harrison in the summer transfer window…

Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope has claimed that the Magpies are expected to progress with a deal to sign the 25-year-old after stalling in moves for other players.

He tweeted: “Alexander Isak message consistent throughout summer, a non-starter because of price. Moussa Diaby on hold for now (same reason). More likely is movement on Jack Harrison, although valuation with Leeds remains apart.”

This comes after The Telegraph reported his price tag to be £30m earlier in the summer, and it remains to be seen whether both teams are willing to arrive at a compromise.

By signing the Leeds ace this summer, the Magpies can land a big upgrade on their misfiring winger Ryan Fraser to improve Eddie Howe’s squad.

The Whites forward has scored 16 goals and provided nine assists over the last two Premier League seasons. This shows that he has the ability to contribute far more than Fraser when it comes to delivering end product on the pitch.

Leeds manager Jesse Marsch has hailed the 25-year-old, saying: “He can run all day, he is explosive, he’s effective in 1-v-1s, he’s dangerous,
