Mount, De Ligt and Shaw - Manchester United injury news and return dates

Manchester United will welcome Bournemouth to Old Trafford on Sunday as they look to bounce back from their Carabao Cup quarter-final disappointment.

Ruben Amorim's side were beaten 4-3 by Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday evening as a brace from Dominic Solanke, as well as goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-Min, rendered United goals from Joshua Zirkzee, Amad Diallo and Jonny Evans as worthless.

Attention now returns to the Premier League as Amorim looks to push 13th placed United back into the top half and back into European contention.

To do so, though, he will have to make do without a few players for the visit of Andoni Iraola's side. As such, Manchester Evening News have rounded up the United players who could be out of action on Sunday.

Injury: Leg muscle injury

What we know: Mount limped off in the first half of United's 2-1 win over Man City last Sunday and looked heartbroken as he left the pitch at the Etihad Stadium.

A number of injury problems have curtailed his progress at Old Trafford since his move from Chelsea last summer and he is expected to be out of action for 'several weeks'.

Speaking on Friday, Amorim said: "[He will be out for] Several weeks. I don't know the exact date but it's going to be for long and that's it. That's part of football, you continue."

Expected return date: Mid-January

Injury: Hamstring
