Motorsport federation showcases WRC Rally Saudi Arabia’s impact and achievements
JEDDAH: The inaugural edition of the WRC Rally Saudi Arabia in 2025 brought the FIA World Rally Championship to the Kingdom for the first time, providing an opportunity to host one of the most demanding and prestigious events on the global stage.
With Saudi Arabia already hosting major international events including Formula 1, Formula E and the Dakar Rally, the addition of the FIA World Rally Championship broadened that portfolio further and reinforced Saudi Arabia’s growing global presence.
Now the Saudi Arabian Motorsport Federation has released information on the 2025 edition, from the organization to the competition itself.
Across a 14,670 sq. meter fan zone and service park, the event mobilized a workforce of 2,322 people, with 52 entities contributing to its delivery.
On the sporting side, crews tackled 319.44 km across 17 stages, underlining the level of coordination, planning, and operational control needed to deliver a world championship rally.
Alongside the sporting contest, which brought together 39 participants from 28 nations, more than 200 students took part in community outreach activities, highlighting the important role major international sporting events can play in raising awareness and inspiring greater interest in motorsport among young people.
This commitment to long-term development has also provided a pathway for promising Saudi talent and contributed to the international progression of drivers including Hamzah Bakhashab and Saeed Al-Mouri.
