Motor racing-Red Bull sack team principal Horner

Red Bull has sacked team principal Christian Horner after 20 years in the position, the Formula 1 team announced on Wednesday (Jul 9).

"With immediate effect, Laurent Mekies will take over the duties of CEO at Red Bull Racing. As part of his change, Alan Permane, currently Racing Director, will be promoted to Team Principal at Racing Bulls," Red Bull said in a statement.

Red Bull sits fourth in the constructors' championship.
