MotoGP interview: BT Sport team assess Jack Miller's move from Ducati to KTM

The MotoGP summer break is coming to an end, and we’ll soon be back racing with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on August 7th.

It’s been a top campaign so far with plenty of surprises and twists, but it’s Fabio Quartararo who has stayed true to form to lead the standings at this stage.

Behind him, Aleix Espargaro, the man who has shocked so many with his performances so far this year, and the man who seems quite possibly the only rider who could stop Quartararo winning a second premier class title.

Ahead of Silverstone, then, Give Me Sport caught up with the team at BT Sport to get their thoughts on some of the talking points of the campaign so far and, here, we’re taking a look at Jack Miller’s switch from Ducati to KTM for next season, and whether he’ll feel as though there was any opportunity missed with the Italian outfit:

“I think so. Pecco was so strong at the end of last season it made Jack look bad but he’s always there doing a good job. Ducati are looking for championship contenders but they have unfairly judged Jack. They’re looking for young talent [though,] MotoGP has turned that way – they’re always looking for the next one and Jack’s fell foul of that.

“He can bring a lot to the KTM party – he’ll bring a lot of information, he can deliver, he’s a good team player, he’s a previous KTM rider in Moto3 so I think the bosses there will like Jack and if they give him that structure and keep improving, Jack could get there and they’ll find something and all of a sudden Jack’s winning races consistently so it could be a good move.

“Jack is like Aleix and is a slightly later bloomer – Latin riders ride more in their youth than the Commonwealth riders and I do think Jack’s one of those riders
