MotoGP Germany: Marc Marquez wipes out Johann Zarco in drama-filled practice session topped by Marco Bezzecchi

Marc Marquez crashed then took out Ducati's Johann Zarco in an event-filled second practice session that saw two red flags at the German MotoGP. Marquez's Repsol Honda fell on a fast lap and slid into Zarco who was leaving the pits before he was knocked over. Ad The Pramac Racing rider got back up on to his feet and appeared to be uninjured as Marquez returned to the pits.

Pramac Racing's Jorge Martin (+0.040) and Aprilia's Aleix Espargaro (+0.081) took second and third. There were also big accidents involving Takaaki Nakagami, Raul Fernandez and Miguel Oliveira.

Marquez made an eye-catching save at Turn 11 as he nearly lost the front on two occasions. But after losing time on sector three came the most dramatic crash of the session as Marquez lost the front-end of his Honda at turn one before wiping out Zarco. Marquez finished in 14th and will need to take part in Saturday's Qualifying 1 session. Gresini Ducati riders Fabio di Giannantonio and Alex Marquez also fell late on in a chaotic practice session.
