MotoGP Assen: Dixon aiming to ‘come back stronger’
Aspar’s Jake Dixon heads to the final race before the summer break looking for a strong result in the Assen Moto2 Dutch TT.
Having struggled with a lack of grip at the Sachsenring, Dixon fought back in a challenging race to secure tenth overall in the title standings but is hoping his familiarity with the Dutch track will prove more fruitful this weekend.
A track he knows well and with a proven success in qualifying of late, Sunday is the final key to unlock the Brit’s potential as a consistent challenger in the intermediate class ahead of a five week break.
“Last weekend was not ideal,” Dixon admitted ahead of round 11. “With a crash in the last free practice and the lack of grip and vibration in the race, from the beginning it was clear that it would be a long race. In the end I managed to finish eleventh, which was all we could do.
“I hope that in Assen we can come back stronger.”
