MotoGP Argentina: Dixon ‘fighting for first podium’ in Termas return

Jake Dixon returns to Termas de Río Hondo confident he can banish the demons of Indonesia’s Moto2 heartbreak.

The Autosolar GasGas Aspar rider had podium potential at Mandalika after starting his first intermediate class race from pole position but a turn ten crash five laps in prevented him from capitalising on the occasion. His return to Argentina, for the first time since his debut season in the world championship, provides the opportunity to overcome the disappointment with another determined ride.

“In Indonesia we were very strong and I hope to be able to do so again in Argentina,” Dixon confirmed ahead of round three’s action. “I want to fight for the front positions and I think we can do it.

“We arrive at the third race of the year after having achieved my first pole position in the world championship, but we still have to continue growing and fighting for my first podium and my first victory.

“The objective this weekend will be that, to opt for the podium in a circuit in which I already competed in 2019.”
