Motherwell star Lennon Miller earns glowing review from Sky Sports icon Martin Tyler

Motherwell sensation Lennon Miller has had plenty of praise over the last two seasons after making his breakthrough at Fir Park at the age of 16.

And now his exploits have caught the eye of legendary Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler.

The 79-year-old has commentated on some of the biggest matches in the game and seen a host of stars strut their stuff on the pitch - and he reckons the 18-year-old Wishaw kid is 'one to keep an eye on'.

Tyler came across the midfielder while watching coverage of Celtic's 3-0 win over Motherwell on Sunday, where Miller twice hit the woodwork in the opening 10 minutes before the Hoops ran away with the game.

And speaking on his own podcast, 'The Joy of Football Podcast', he heaped praise on the teenager.

Tyler said: "You and many of you watching may not have heard of Lennon Miller, and to be honest I hadn't heard of him till recently. I am doing some preparation on Celtic for a Champions League assignment in a few days time, and they were playing Motherwell.

"This young man caught my eye playing for Motherwell. He's 18 and made his debut for Motherwell aged 16 and six days in a Scottish League cup tie a couple of years back. He is the son of a former Scotland international Lee Miller, who did have a spell playing in England at Middlesbrough and Carlisle for a little bit longer.

"So he has got football in his family and has already played 50 games. He's scored six goals and will score a few more because he is playing further forward.

"Celtic won the game 3-0 in the end but at 0-0 from between 18-25 yards, he (Miller) hit the post and then hit the bar with shots that had Kasper Schmeichel well-beaten and a millimetre either way, the goal would be getting played over and over again.
