Motherwell retro kits to be flown to Zambia as part of fan's football fundraiser as Bobby Madden donation revealed

Pepe's Zambia Football Foundation hope to boost the local Zambian economy when they fly out to the African country next Saturday.

After over two years of planning, Scott McLure will travel to Zambia after sending 950 kilograms of football equipment across continents.

Local schools Our Lady and Saint Francis and St Brendans will take part in a match at Ravenscraig today to raise vital funds for the charity.

Already £765 has been raised and donations can be made here. The main reason for the game is to show the difference in facilities of Scotland and Zambia.

A range of retro Motherwell kits will be handed out by McLure and referee Bobby Madden has kindly donated UEFA standard ref kits.

McLure said: "It's not something I have ever thought about doing before. Outside my family, my passion is football. I've not expected it to get to the level it has.

"There has been 950 kilograms of football equipment has been sent over, and it's been sent over in suitcases so they also have storage for things like food.

"It's not easy to ship things out to the other side of the world, which has been a learning curve. But I am glad everything is now sorted for going out there."
