Motherwell Athletics Club scoop West Cross Country League medal
Motherwell Athletics Club took part in the Scotland West Cross Country League races last month, with junior runner Jonathan Moore winning a bronze medal.
Despite a very hilly and muddy route, athletes enjoyed the event at Linn Park in Glasgow on December 14, which gave athletes the chance to qualify for the Inter-Districts race in January.
Results were:
Under-11 girls’ 1000m: Rachel Cumming (4.39).
Under-11 boys’ 1000m: Harry Foster (5.05).
Under-13 girls’ 2000m: Lena Skyrzlewdska (8.09, 5th place); Emily Devine (8.58); Elspeth Lickerish (9.24); Ana Hudson (10.42).
Under-15 girls: 2900m: Amelie Hill (15.25).
Under-15 boys’ 2900m: Luke Russell (11.05, 7th male/8th overall); Harry Holmes (14.14).
Senior male 5700m: Jonathan Moore (19.33:11, 3rd place).
Masters male 5700m: Shane Semple (27.35); Robert Pattison (27.46); David Hoolaghan (29.32).
The club have since had confirmation that Lena Skyrzlewdska, Luke Geddes and LUke Russell have been selected for the West of Scotland team, with the race on January 11.
