Live Wales weather updates as 2025 begins with heavy rain and high wind warnings

The new year has got off to a wet and windy start with much of the stormy conditions we saw in December continuing into January 1. There are two weather warnings currently in place for Wales for wind and rain.

A 24-hour weather warning for rain started at 6pm on New Year's Eve. That is due to come to an end at 6pm on New Year's Day. The warning covers the entirety of the country.

There is also a weather warning for wind which could see gusts of 40-50mph with a possibility of some 60mph gales. The wind warning is in place from 12.15am on Wednesday morning until 3pm on Wednesday afternoon.
