Mose Masoe leads the praise as Shaun Kenny-Dowall pens new Hull KR deal

It's fair to say Hull KR fans are in jubilant mood today as the red army swarmed social media after the club announced captain Shaun Kenny-Dowall has signed a one-year extension with the Robins. The influential outside-back has signed on for his fourth season in red and white after surpassing 350 career appearances earlier this year and has only missed one game for Rovers since joining the club from NRL club Newcastle Knights.

The former New Zealand star, who was capped 21 times by the Kiwis, has been one of Hull KR's best overseas captures, and the response from the supporters since the announcement this morning shows what impact SKD has had on the club since joining ahead of the 2020 campaign.

It wasn't just fans who were happy to see SKD pen a new deal, with legend Mose Masoe taking to twitter to congratulate his former teammate!

The Rovers captain has also had his say on his contract extension, with Kenny-Dowall over the moon to secure another 12 months captaining the Robins, and admitted he is ecstatic to be staying at the club.

"I’m ecstatic to sign on for another year and get the opportunity to have another 12 months locked in and enjoy it," said Kenny-Dowall. "What comes in the future will come. I wanted to do the right thing by the club and open up those negotiations. I’m happy here and the club are happy with what I bring to the table.”
