Morrisons shoppers urged not to eat five chicken products and to return them immediately

People who shop at Morrisons have been urged to return certain packs of chicken. The supermarket chain has issued a product recall for five of its chicken items and has warned shoppers not to eat them.

Morrisons is asking its customers to bring any of the chicken products back to their local store as there is a risk that some packs could contain small pieces of glass, which could be harmful if eaten.

The supermarket, which is now the cheapest for basic items, is recalling breaded chicken products with specific date codes and has said customers will receive a full refund if they return these items, even if they don't have a receipt.

Morrisons then reassured customers that no other products are affected by this issue.

In a statement warning customers, a spokesperson said: "Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don’t need a receipt.

"No other products are affected by this issue. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety."

Here are the products being recalled:

Recalls happen when a product is deemed unsafe which may be due to undeclared ingredients, packaging issue or contamination.

These products are then usually taken off the shelves and any customers who have bought them are asked to return them.
