Morning Coffee: Padres The Biggest Deadline Day Movers In FanDuel Futures Markets

The San Diego Padres were +2000 to win the World Series at FanDuel heading into the MLB trade deadline.

After completing their blockbuster deal for Juan Soto, the Padres moved to +1000 to win it all on FanDuel.

Soto is the first player in MLB history, age 23 or younger, to change teams midseason in the same year that he was an All-Star.

The Padres added a 23-year-old MVP candidate that owns a better OBP through his age-23 season than any other player in the Modern Era other than Ted Williams.

Soto is tied for the highest WAR among position players since the start of the 2020 season.

He becomes the second player on the San Diego roster that has finished top-five for MVP voting in each of the past two seasons, joining new teammate Fernando Tatis Jr.
