Moment 'thrill-seeking' pervert is arrested after 'grotesque' messages were uncovered

A vile pervert told someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl to call him ‘daddy’ - it turned out to be a member of a paedo-hunter group. Warren Millward, 35, messaged the profile on Facebook, and despite her telling him she was only 14, he sent her explicit messages.

Over a two-month period hundreds of messages were exchanged on Facebook and WhatsApp, calling the ‘girl’ “Princess”, asking her to call him “Daddy” and telling her she could be his ‘naughty little daughter’.

Millward, of Manchester, asked the ‘child’ to send him voice notes whilst she stimulated a sex act, and asked her if she had any friends they could add to their chat that she thought were ‘cute’.

It later became clear that the child was actually an adult decoy from the group ‘Confronted and Caught’, and Millward was arrested.

At Manchester Crown Court, a judge described the messages as ‘grotesque’, and said her ‘disgust and abhorrence’ was clear. She handed him a suspended sentence, stating the public and children would be best protected following the intervention of the probation service.

Millward previously described his offending as ‘thrill-seeking’ and ‘going off the rails’ following a divorce and a miscarriage suffered by his ex-girlfriend.

Simon Barrett, prosecuting, said Millward first messaged the ‘girl’ in August 2022, and the decoy responded immediately explaining that she was 14. “He stated he was old enough to be her father and said she could be his ‘naughty little daughter’ and they could do things she may not have done before,” he said.
