Moment police catch man in Manchester hotel room with girl, 14, after disturbing 999 call

Bodycam footage has shown the shocking moment police caught a man in a hotel room with a teenage girl following a disturbing 999 call.

Officers swooped in on the pervert at a hotel in Manchester after being tipped off by a concerned member of staff who dialled the emergency services. The staff member had reported a 14-year-old girl was in a room with an 'over-aged man'.

Body-worn cameras show the officers arriving and banging heavily on the hotel room door shouting for the man inside to open up before bursting in.

The harrowing 999 call has also been shared by Greater Manchester Police, in which the staff member can be heard saying: "We've got two young ladies from a care home that have shown up, reporting that there's a man with an underage girl that have managed to gain access to one of our rooms.

"We've confirmed that they gained access to the hotel, so there's a 14-year-old girl with an overage man in the hotel and we need the police to come."

Dressed in a black t-shirt, the male suspect is then escorted outside into the street before being arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a child and placed into the back of a police car.

The footage has been shared by police after concerning new data emerged revealing how forces have received hundreds of reports of child sexual abuse at hotel chains.

Data, published by the BBC, said 504 offences were recorded in hotels in 2023, with 92 per cent involving physical contact with a child and 40 per cent being recorded as rape incidents.

The broadcaster revealed how youngsters were sexually assaulted, raped and molested in the high street chains across the UK. The National Police Chief's Council (NPCC) figures revealed that the majority of locations were budget hotel chains.
