Mohamed Salah's form this season has not come as a surprise for those who have watched him week in, week out in a Liverpool shirt for the past five years.

Liverpool's star man has scored 16 goals in the Premier League this season and also has nine assists to his name - just one behind Trent Alexander-Arnold at the top of the standings.

If his form continues, Salah is a certainty to pick up the Player of the Year awards and be recognised at world level more than he already has.

The Red's number 11 is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations as Egypt progressed to the quarter-finals with Salah 's winning penalty in the shootout against Ivory Coast.

In a study carried out by BetVictor, players performances were analysed and it was revealed that Salah was the fourth highest on the list of players overperforming in terms of scoring goals.

Topping the list is Arsenal's Emile Smith-Rowe with Burnley's Maxwell Cornet and Watford's Emmanuel Dennis in second and third place.

The study revealed that the Egyptian has only been expected to score 12 goals this season - which would still make him the top scorer in the Premier League.

Salah has scored a number of incredible goals this season, the solo efforts against Manchester City and Watford are goal of the year
