It keeps the Merseysiders within three points of the champions, who go to Crystal Palace on Monday night looking to extend the gap.

Salah's goalscoring exploits have been a major part of Liverpool's title charge this term.

The Egyptian scored in the 2-2 draw with City at Anfield back in October and the return fixture at the Etihad next month looks set to be a defining 90 minutes.
